About us

Who we are.

We take every project from resource to market, with technical rigour and economic discipline. Today we operate three interconnected areas — Energy Consulting, Project Development and Energy Management — being, in the latter, one of the four independent aggregators operating in Portugal's system services markets.

Our story

Two decades, three pillars.

From an energy consultancy founded in Lisbon to a global player in the energy transition. Each phase — consulting, development, energy management — consolidated capabilities that today converge in a single platform.

2008

Founded

Gesto Energy is born in Lisbon, focused on energy consultancy and renewable project development.

2012

Lusophone expansion

Presence opens in Portuguese-speaking Africa — Maputo, Luanda, Praia. First rural electrification master plans.

2015

Global scale

30+ countries assessed. Owner's engineer on utility-scale solar and wind projects.

2018

50,000 MW milestone

Cumulative renewable resource assessment crosses 50,000 MW. Expansion into Middle East and Anglophone Africa.

2021

Development pillar

2,000+ MW of solar projects developed. Multidisciplinary team from permitting to operations. Entry into BESS and hybrids.

2025

Energy Management pillar

UPACs, mid-scale renewable plants, producer representation, portfolio management.
